CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR BURSARY RECIPIENTS: On Monday, August 10th the Legion was proud to present this year's recipients with their bursary cheques. Congratulations and the best of luck in all your future endeavours. In the picture on Page 7 of the current issue of the Uniacke Newsletter - left to right - are Bursary Chairpersons Comrades Paulette Foley, Katelyn Verge and Cali Trahan and 1st Vice-President Angela Dill.

Membership dues for 2027 will be collected starting September 1st (see below) and all renewals before November 30th will be eligible for the Early Bird Draw. JAM SESSION: Jam sessions are the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. The next one will be October 14 in the Memorabilia Lounge.

POPPY CAMPAIGN FOR 2026: Poppy Campaign & Wreath Sales launching soon in Mount Uniacke. Start in early October, local wreath and cross sales for our upcoming Remembrance Day Service will officially begin. These items feature bio-degradable materials to support eco-friendly memorial traditions. As always, direct monetary donations to the Poppy Trust Fund are welcome.

HOW YOUR POPPY FUND DONATIONS HELP OUR COMMUNITY: **100% Protected & Local: Every dollar donated stays in our area. By law, these funds cannot be used for Legion operational costs, salaries or facility maintenance - they are strictly dedicated for supporting local veterans and their families. ***Direct Veteran Support Funds provide emergency financial aid for essential needs like food, hearing and medication, as well as assistance with housing stability and medical equipment ***Comfort and Care: Donations cover medical transportation and essential supplies for veterans in long-term care facilities. ***Youth & Community Investments: Proceeds fund educational bursaries for veterans' descendants, support local cadet groups, and fund youth Remembrance program.

Your generosity during the Poppy Campaign directly ensures that nearby veterans, reservists, RCMP members and their families receive year-round care right here in our community.
