Now that we are past March 15th, the province of Nova Scotia has entered wildfire risk season. What this means for you is that you cannot burn combustibles in outdoor burning appliances between the hours of 0800 and 1400 (2PM). After 1400 you need to visit the NS "Burn Safe" website or call 1-855-564-2876. This restriction will remain in place until mid-October. If the map is green you are good to burn from 1400 until 0800 the following day. If Orange, you may burn after 1900 (7pm) and if red that means there is no burning permitted. Please socialize these rules in your friends group and community to ensure that our community remains safe and we can avoid sending fire trucks for people simply not knowing.
