UNIACKE & DISTRICT FIRE DEPARTMENT

Hello Mount Uniacke

Recently, your UDVFD held their Annual General Meeting where the vision for the next twelve months was laid out and officer elections were held. This year, to account for the growth in the community and the department, we’ve added several new officer positions. Today I’m going to tell you about the folks we chose to lead this growing department.

The incumbent - Chief Bruce Fraser was re-elected as Chief. He brings with him decades of experience in firefighting from growing up in his father's shoes in a rural New Brunswick Volunteer Department followed by a career in His Majesty’s Navy.

Deputy Chief Henry Raymakers is no stranger to anyone in Mount Uniacke with a whopping 50 years in the department. Henry brings a wealth of corporate knowledge within the department as well as a love for all things firefighting.

Deputy Chief Adam Powell who also is not a stranger within the community - having grown up here in his father’s shoes and grandfather's shoes - brings a plethora of construction services to the community. He also brings a couple of decades of experience within the department having joined as a teenager rising through our junior program and continuing to serve after reaching the age of 19.

These knowledgeable and experienced firefighters will be the forefront of leadership at UDVFD representing us with the municipality and they look forward to the exciting future we have ahead.
