REQUIREMENT FOR COVID VACCINE
Nova Scotians aged 65 and over are recommended to get one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and the seniors influenza vaccine.
Vaccine protection can decrease over time. Keeping up to date with your COVID-19 and Influenza vaccines is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your loved ones against serious illnesses, which could lead to hospitalization and even death in the most severe cases.
You can book appointments for both vaccines at a local pharmacy or Public Health Mobile Unit online at novascotia.ca/vaccination or by calling 1-833-797-7772. You can also call your primary care provider directly if you would like to book your vaccines with them.
A minimum of three months is required between doses of COVID-19 vaccine or after a known COVID-19 infection. Influenza vaccines are given once a year. If you have cold or flue-like symptoms, please wait until you are feeling better to get vaccinated.
