Uniacke Newsletter “News”, to start this new year off, begins with the announcement / decision of Joyce Steadman to step down from her involvement with the Uniacke Newsletter. The Uniacke Newsletter is commencing its 50th year of publication within our community. It has definitely grown since its “introduction” to our community in 1969 and a lot of changes have taken place, as well as the many people who have shared their expertise to share news with all our readers. I have compiled the “history” of our community Newsletter and will post it onto our web site and our Facebook page as well as on the Mount Uniacke Community Update page so our readers can see the dedication of the many different participants through the years in this very successful volunteer-run Newsletter. Joyce joined “the force” in September 2008 as bookkeeper and sharing in the “copying, folding, stuffing and distribution, plus papercuts” of our community Newsletter. I thank Joyce for her work over the last 11 years and wish her all the best. Many thanks Joyce for your assistance with the Newsletter and all the “chatter”, “suggestions”, and “assistance” to keep the Newsletter flowing. Most of all, thanks for the friendship and being a great travel companion to destinations on our vacation “jaunts”. I cannot pick a favourite vacation we took because they all took us to different places which we both enjoyed tremendously, but, I think the two trips to Las Vegas and seeing Terry Fator perform live are probably my favourite jaunts as well as walking on the Skywalk at Eagle Point, (glass circular walkway over the Grand Canyon).
