In February your UDVFD responded to 30 calls as follows: 1 Fire Alarm; 2 Chimney Fires; 1 Miscellaneous Fire; 1 Structure Fire; 18 Medical Assists; 6 Motor Vehicle Accidents and 1 request for Mutual Aid in a neighbouring community.

As of March 15th, the daily provincial fire restrictions are in effect. This means that you should check the Novascotia.ca/burnsafe website at 1400hrs (2pm) daily to determine whether you can burn. There is no burning permitted between 8 and 1400 hours daily. If you spot an illegal burn, please advise your neighbour of these restrictions or contact 911.

In other news - returning this year at the firefighters' fair is the fair dance which is scheduled on June 21 and goes from 9:00pm hours to 1am. The dance will feature the musical talents of the Jon Cyr Band.
