In October of 2016, the Legion used one of its ballfields to open up as an off-leash dog park for the community. This dog park is gated and located on Legion property. For those who know the property, it is what used to be Field #3. There is a sign posted as well as a set of general rules for people to follow. Owners are required to pick up their dog poop and dispose of it themselves. The owner of the Playful Paws Inc., Heather Brown, made a couple of donations over the first few years to assist us with the upkeep of the off-leah dog park. On behalf of the Legion and the community members of Mount Uniacke who use the dog park, we thank her for the kind donations. Please check out the Facebook Page - Playful Paws. The Municipality of East Hants now supports this endeavour to keep the dog park mowed. Anyone wishing to comment can do so on our Facebook Group: Uniacke & District Br. #165 or email us at rclegion165@bellaliant.com If you see anything that needs repairs or needs to be done, please contact us. We are located at 18 Veterans Lane.
Just a reminder that it is the dog owner's responsibility to clean up after their dog.
