The Executive and Members of RCL # 165 wish to extend wishes of a Safe and Happy Summer to all members of the community.
During the summer months Bingo continues every Thursday with the Bonanza and Early Bird games starting at 7:00pm. Doors open at 6:30pm. All regular games start at 7:45pm. Must be 10 years of age and over to play.
Anyone wishing to volunteer to work can call Joan Hayden at 902-866-0704.
Anyone wishing to become a member or transfer from another Legion can contact the Legion at 902-866-4022. Membership dues will be increasing to $45 during the Early Bird Campaign from the period of Sept. 1 – Nov. 30 and to $50 if paid after these dates.
Meat Darts is every Friday evening starting at 8:00pm.
Meat Pool is every Saturday evening starting at 7:30pm.
Jam Sessions still take place on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month in the Memorabilia Lounge. Bring your instrument along and join in or just come to listen.
Chase the Ace every Saturday until the Ace of Spades is drawn. Tickets sold from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Draw made as soon as monies are counted.
All regular activities will resume in September.
Next General Meeting will be September 6th at 7:30p.m.
BRUNCH: Sunday, September 10th from 9:30am -11:30am. Cost is $7.00 for adults and $4.00 for children 5 to 12 years old. Under 5 Free.
SENIORS: Every 3rd Tuesday of each month. The next one will be September 19th. Come over to say hello to your friends and bring new friends along for an afternoon of fun and games. The cost is only a Loonie.

UNIACKE & DISTRICT BR. #165 HONOURS AND AWARDS 2017
Our Annual Honours and Awards night was held on May 27. Guests for the evening were Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command District F Commander, Richard Malin; Zone 15 Commander Dave Kemp and his wife Holley; Zone 15 Deputy Zone Commander Joanne Geddes; Councilors Cyril McDonald and Leo Moussa; Principal Darlene Walker and Paula George representing the school Breakfast Program; Lieutenant Michelle Grondin from RCSCC356 Wolf and her husband Roger, the founder of the Sea Cadet Corps; Cathy Samms and Teresa Borden representing the Navy league; and representatives from Sackville, Bedford and Waverley Legions.
The evening started with a wine & cheese reception followed by a dinner catered by Don Hartlen and then the awards presentations.

Certificates of Appreciation (for continued volunteerism to the Branch): Lloyd Boutilier, Linda Thompson, Susan Caldwell, and our young volunteers – Maddie Fiander, Allie Kell, Garret Morris, Ryan Peach and Hailey Blagdon.
Certificate of Merit (for outstanding volunteerism): Doreen and Eric Ritchie for their continued support of our Remembrance Day Service.
Years of Service Pins (for continuous years of membership to the Legion): Deanie Alpaugh – 40 years; Myrna Grant and Newman Parker – 35 years; Bruce Riley, Chris Innes and Dave King – 25 years; Judy Neault– 20 years. Other recipients who were not present will receive their pins at a later date.

We wish to thank everyone who volunteers to help keep our Branch an integral part of the community.
The evening was a huge success and it was followed by an evening of comradeship.
